ICE LIES STILL 06.12.10
Snow has gone yet ice lies still in ruts on furrowed fields.
Weakly the sun warms the earth but winter refuses to yield,
and clasps all within her grasp, with fingers long and old
But nature knowing her ways wisely sleeps safe within her folds.

FRIDAY BLOWING
Gone the sun which warms the heart, and shows the window smears,
so the skimpy tops are put to the back of the drawer,
and the jumpers which bulk up the frame take mainstage,
increasing ample curves, enducing wishes one had flown
with the swallows, and left the falling leaves,
and the encrouching fogs behind.
